The golden hour, or magic hour as it is sometimes referred to, is a photographers dream! It is the period just before sunrise and shortly before sunset. During this time the light is soft and diffused which results in more flattering skin tones. Outside of these times the sun is too high in the sky and creates strong shadows across the face, blown- out highlights and usually – squinting! The warm glow of the golden hour adds a pleasing feel to the scene and more depth to the image.
